LAB MISSION

The Hamilton Lab is directed by Jessica L. Hamilton, Ph.D., an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Clinical Psychology PhD program at Rutgers University on the New Brunswick Campus.
Our research identifies modifiable risk and protective factors for the development and worsening of suicidal thinking and self-injurious behaviors among adolescents, with a primary focus on social media use and sleep as critical points of prevention.
The goal of our research is to inform prevention programs and promote adolescent mental health using clinical and developmental science, and ensure that research and mental health is accessible and equitable across youth from diverse backgrounds.
